The present configuration of the Most Holly Sacrament’s Church, currently the mother church of Valezim, is the result of profound remodeling and expansion work carried out between 1966 and 1967 on an older chapel dating from the 18th century. These works resulted in the construction of a new façade, a sacristy attached to the side façade and a new belfry. The main altar has also been moved back, taking the place of the old sacristy. Curiously, the original bell tower now serves as the fountain in the sanctuary of Our Lady of Health.
