It is a small outcrop of pinkish quartz located on a small elevation next to the Vale das Éguas. From this place, an extraordinary view over the Penhas Douradas and over the north and east quadrant of the Serra da Estrela is obtained.
It is a geosite of the Estrela Geopark with a petrological scope (BG16).
