Main Church of Loriga

Main Church of Loriga (Igreja Matriz de Loriga) – or St. Mary Main Church, was built in 1233 with a roman style whose design had similarities with the Cathedral of Coimbra. Until today it has never changed its place, but it had to be rebuilt after being destroyed by the earthquakes of 1755 and 1882, having been completely modified. Nowadays this church has, besides the main altar, four altars considered of rare beauty as well as its images, a choir and a bell tower.
