Picadeiro Palace

Starting to be built in the 19th century by a magistrate, the manor house was initially unfinished due to the lack of money. Over the years, the building had several owners, also performing several functions: from the seat of a court to the headquarters of a hospital and even served as a typography for the newspaper Estrela da Beira, in the middle of the 19th century.

After having been abandoned for several years, it was recovered less than a decade ago. The rectangular baroque manor house has two floors and a symmetrical main façade. Nowadays, it is a museum space for cultural dissemination, it has exposed the traditional inlays, very characteristic of the Alpedrinha joinery. It is undoubtedly a space where the visitor can learn a little more about the municipality of Fundão, through new technologies. In addition, the palace allows you to view a fantastic panoramic view from its balcony.
