Pedra d´Hera viewpoint

Pedra d´Hera viewpoint is located on the hill of São Brás, at 760 meters altitude, on the northern slope of the Gardunha mountain range. From this place it is possible to reach a wide panorama that covers a mountainous landscape that extends from Serra da Estrela to Serra da Malcata, delimiting a low area called Cova da Beira. At the southwest end of Cova da Beira, the Zêzere River, and its tributaries flow through a wide and open valley and, at the foot of Serra da Gardunha, the city of Fundão is located. This territory has a very particular geographic framework, which gives it a specific microclimate, conducive to an intense and varied agricultural use of the soil. From this viewpoint, some of the most prominent points of Serra da Estrela are recognized. This point of interest is 4.5 km away from this mountain village.
