Poço de Broca das Frádigas (Frádigas Drill Well)

Near the mountain village of Vide, in the village of Frádigas, we find an imposing waterfall with a deep well. This waterfall is the result of "a series of works developed with a view to better agricultural utilisation of the valley, in a territory where the soils are poor and the slopes steep."

"Popularly known as auger wells, these hydraulic works were also used to create irrigation levadas and to install horizontal wheel water mills, which further add to the picturesqueness of the complex."
