Covão dos Conchos

This dam is part of the Serra da Estrela Hydroelectric System and is a very popular place between tourists. Part of this interest results from the existence of a water drainage structure similar to a funnel, which allows the transfer of water from this water mirror to the Lagoa Comprida. A splendid place to be visited not only for the conjunction of man's intervention in nature, but also for the surrounding landscape. To access Covão dos Conchos, situated 6.9 km away from the Mountain Village of Sabugueiro, you will have to follow a trail of about 4 km away from Lagoa Comprida to this place.
