Stone Pillory of Melo

This sculpted stone column dates from the 16th century and stands on five quadrangular steps. The pillory is characterized by its different volumetric levels, a Portuguese escutcheon (presenting the five characteristic shields, or quinas) sculpted in stone, and an armillary sphere, with a small iron cross on top.
