Zêzere Glacial Valley

Is a typical glacial valley with a characteristic "U" shape, being the largest and most representative of the valleys of this type in the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela. It extends about 13 km from the source of Zêzere River until the Mountain Village of Manteigas. Along the valley we can observe numerous well preserved geomorphological traces dated from the last glaciation, more than 10 thousand years ago. Still to refer that this Zêzere Glacial Valley gathers an important biodiversity at the level of fauna and flora including many unique species of this mountain.
