"Algodres" figure

One of the great curiosities of this mountain village is a stone bust carved into the wall of the main church. It is believed to be a tribute to the founder of the village or a representation of a monk (or friar) wearing the monastic habit. There is also no consensus on this mythical figure - popularly known as ‘the Algodres’.
