Located north of the village of Lavacolhos, on the western limit of the municipality of Fundão, the Cabeço da Argemela integrates a line of hills called Serra do Gomes. Nestled between the Estrela and Gardunha mountains, the hill exhibits a conical morphology that stands out prominently in the surrounding landscape.
From the top of the hill, a panoramic view is obtained that covers the mountain range located around it. To the north, the Zêzere valley and the southern slope of Serra da Estrela stand out. To the west, the eastern slope of Serra do Açor, of which the Cebola peak stands out. To the south, the northern slopes of Serra da Gardunha, including its culmination point, at 1227 meters altitude, in the place of Penha. And, finally, to the east it offers a view of an open landscape and of lower altitudes that embraces the western end of the depressed region called Cova da Beira.
You can find this point of interest 17.5 km away from this mountain village.
