Water Festival | Aldeias

The Water Festival in the Mountain Village of Aldeias, in the municipality of Gouveia, was created to celebrate water as one of the region’s most important resources, both for its environmental significance and for the historical connection of local communities to springs, streams, washhouses, and traditional practices.

Over the course of three days, the village becomes a place for gathering and sharing, with cultural activities, walks, music, gastronomy, workshops, and experiences connected to water, nature, and sustainability. The event invites both visitors and residents to rediscover local traditions and reflect on the importance of water in the Mountain Villages.
