This Palace is a classified property, former manor house of the founders of Melo. Its existence dates to the 13th / 14th centuries when the 1st lord of Melo returned from Jerusalem. Later, in the 19th century, during the Napoleonic invasions of Portugal, it served as a place of refuge and residence for the Bishop of Guarda. Despite the advanced state of ruins, the Baroque building continues to maintain its grandeur. It is formed by an L-shaped plan around a walled courtyard. There is also a staircase leading to the noble floor and to the old house chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz. Also deserving the attention of those who visit this place are the still existing Chapel of Senhor do Calvário, the tower with granite spire and the other structures of the palace.
