The Mozarabic Church of São Pedro de Lourosa

Its pre-Romanesque origin makes this church a rare example in Portugal. This Mozarabic temple reflects the diversity of influences it underwent during the Reconquista period. The uniqueness of this church also comes from the reused Roman, Visigoth and Arabic materials, and the monumentality of the galley and the three naves with horseshoe arches. It is a point of interest widely visited and appreciated by students of culture, historians, and national and foreign tourists. We found this point of interest close to this mountain village, approximately 14 km away.
